Workers Compensation Physiotherapy in Booragoon, Perth
If you've been injured at work, getting the right physiotherapy early can make a significant difference to your recovery and your return to work. At Reforge Physiotherapy in Booragoon, we work with injured workers across the Perth metropolitan area to deliver evidence-based treatment that gets you moving again — and keeps you moving.
What is workers compensation physiotherapy?
Workers compensation physiotherapy covers the assessment and treatment of injuries sustained in the workplace. Whether you've suffered a soft tissue injury, a muscle strain, a joint injury, or something more complex, our team can assess your condition, develop a tailored treatment plan, and work alongside your employer, insurer and workplace rehabilitation provider to support a safe and sustainable return to work.
We accept all workers compensation insurers
We accept workers compensation claims through all approved insurers operating in Western Australia, including RiskCover, Allianz, CGU, GIO, QBE and others. You do not need to find a specific provider — if your claim has been accepted, we can see you.
Common workplace injuries we treat
Back and neck injuries from manual handling, heavy lifting or prolonged sitting
Shoulder injuries from repetitive overhead work or awkward postures
Knee and ankle injuries from slips, trips and falls
Wrist and elbow conditions from repetitive tasks or tool use
Post-surgical rehabilitation following a workplace injury
Soft tissue injuries and muscle strains across all body regions
What do you need prior to your first visit?
Before attending your first workers compensation physiotherapy appointment at Reforge, please make sure you have the following in place:
1. An accepted workers compensation claim
Your employer must have lodged a claim with their insurer and the claim must be accepted before we can bill your treatment directly. If your claim is still pending, please contact us — in some cases we can discuss your options while you wait for approval.
2. Your claim number
You will receive a claim number from your employer's insurer once your claim is accepted. Please have this ready when you book and bring it to your first appointment.
3. A referral or approval for physiotherapy
In most cases your treating doctor (GP or specialist) will need to provide a referral or medical certificate that includes physiotherapy as an approved treatment. Bring this to your first appointment or ask your employer or case manager to forward it to us ahead of time.
4. Your insurer and case manager contact details
Please bring the name of your insurer and your case manager's name and contact details if one has been assigned to your claim. This allows us to communicate directly with them from your very first session.
5. Details of your workplace and job demands
Understanding what your job actually involves helps us set realistic and relevant rehabilitation goals from day one. Think about things like how much lifting, sitting, standing, or physical activity your role involves — the more we know, the better we can tailor your program to get you back there safely.
How does the process work?
To access physiotherapy under workers compensation in Western Australia, you will need a valid claim accepted by your employer's insurer. Once approved, your treatment costs are covered — you do not pay out of pocket for approved sessions.
From there, the process is straightforward:
Contact us with your claim number and insurer details
We book you in promptly and complete a thorough initial assessment
We develop a treatment plan aligned with your return-to-work goals
We liaise directly with your case manager and workplace rehabilitation provider throughout your recovery
We provide detailed progress reports to support your claim and your employer's return-to-work plan
We understand that clear communication between your treatment team, case manager and employer is essential — and we take that responsibility seriously.
Why choose Reforge for your workers compensation rehab?
We're not a high-volume clinic. At Reforge, every patient receives a thorough assessment and a treatment plan built around their specific injury, their job demands, and their goal of returning to work safely and at full capacity.
Our on-site rehabilitation gym sets us apart from a standard physiotherapy clinic. Rather than progressing you from the treatment table straight back to work, we bridge that gap with functional strength and movement rehab — the kind of training that prepares your body for the actual physical demands of your job.
Our physiotherapists have specialist backgrounds in musculoskeletal injury, sports rehabilitation and strength and conditioning. That expertise means we understand how to load and progress injured workers safely, reduce the risk of re-injury, and get you back to full function — not just pain-free on the day of discharge.
Working with case managers and workplace rehabilitation providers
We work closely with case managers, workplace rehabilitation providers and employers throughout the rehabilitation process. We are experienced in providing the clinical documentation, functional assessments and progress reports required to support your claim and facilitate a graded return to work. If you are a case manager or workplace rehabilitation provider looking for a physiotherapy partner in the Booragoon and Melville area, we welcome your referrals.
